    Do you accept health insurance?

    Yes! Contact your insurance provider to make sure that psychological/counselling services are covered.

    There will usually be a cap on number of sessions, and amount they will pay per session.

    Are your services covered by OHIP?

    The short answer to this question is No. The only psychological services covered by OHIP are Psychiatry and M.D. Psychotherapists. As far as I am aware, there are long waiting lists to see these mental health specialists. In order to see a Psychiatrist, you will need a referral from your Family Doctor.

    Do you work with children in your practice?

    I work with Adults. If you feel your child needs help, look for a therapist who has specifically trained to work with children or families. They will usually state that in their service description.

    How long will I need therapy?

    There is no way of knowing how long it will take for you to reach your therapeutic goal. Everyone is different. As a rough guide, if you’re interested in acquiring skills to deal with a current situation that’s bothering you, it may take only a few sessions. If however you are looking to break a lifelong cycle or deal with addictions, need help with depression or anxiety, it’s not unusual to take longer.

    How will I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

    In order for therapy to go well, it is not only important that you feel a connection with the therapist, studies show it’s crucial to your recovery. This is the reason for the no obligation half hour free session. It ‘s an opportunity for you to meet me and see if this is a right fit for you.
